    [A Little about Me]

      Robert William Butler Jr is my name...born and raised in a medium size southern town of approximately 20,000 population with multiple choices for just about any activity in which one could want to become involved.   The city has matured considerably since, and so have I.

      Our economy was composed of a broad mixture of Farming, Ranching, Agriculture, Small to Medium Manufacturing and Industry as well as Business, Banking and a substantially large State University Campus with schools of Agriculture, Engineering & Architecture.

      Upon graduation from high school I joined the U.S. Military and completed my active duty training to spend the next six (6) years serving as a reservist in H.Q. & H.Q. Company, 420th Engineer Brigade, 5th Army while attempting to work P/T & complete a college education. I was allowed the privilege of working for the family construction business part time while attending school and full-time during the summer months to earn extra money to support my various hobbies in electronics, two-way radio, audio engineering, studio recording, fishing, hunting, racing and waterskiing. After my first full year of studies, I decided to obtain a full-time job outside the family construction business and dropped out of school.    Having pocket change to throw around was good...I thought.

      After spending the next 4 to 5 years at various types of jobs; and without a formal education, I went back to work in construction and completed approximately 20 years in the work force.  I then made a career change to a more technical field of Air Conditioning & Refrigeration as a tradesman.  I studied privately and became proficient in this field as I went along retiring after approximately 16 years of continuous service in this industry.

      This brought me to the point of looking at more options in the field of Information Technology as a personal challenge and vehicle for creating a promising future as a consultant / specialist in Network Management & Security. I am currently pursuing this goal as a student in CTU Online with high hopes of obtaining a degree, first for an Associate of Science to begin work in my chosen field of interest or related field thereto, and continuing to study for a Bachelor of Science to fulfill my ultimate goal to become a Professional Consultant.

      In closing, I have great confidence my studies at CTU Online will play a most important role in securing a better future and success for completing my overall plans as an independent consultant in the growing and challenging field of Information Technology. ~ RWB
